In May 2024, ORTV Chairman Dr. Simon Hung released his biography One Life to Give to mark his 50 years of service at ORTV. The book depicts Hung’s journey from childhood to the present, with his life path guided by God. It is also a book about giving one’s life and talents to God, and obediently following God’s call and leading. The book follows Hung’s life, but it is also a book about how God has used ORTV to pioneer Christian media and music in Taiwan and around the world.
Dr. Doris Brougham wrote in the forward: “In the past 50 years, Simon has been my trusted work partner and capable right hand. I thank God for leading Simon into my life. This book not only describes God’s amazing work in Simon’s life, but also God’s amazing work at ORTV.” Professor Lin Zhiping, Founder of Cosmic Light, who passed away recently, wrote in the forward: “He (Hung) has broad vision and many things to do, but he is steadfast and cheerful. It is not an exaggeration to say that his service experience is the epitome of the development of Gospel ministry in Taiwanese churches in the past few decades.”
Hung explained that in this journey of life, he has received help and support from many elders, family, and friends. He emphasized: “This road is the road of obedience and blessing. I hope to be like Andrew, no matter who I meet, to seize the opportunity to lead people to Jesus. I also encourage myself to continue running towards the goal God has set before me and to be loyal until death, because everything is God’s grace. If it wasn’t for God’s choice, I would be nothing and deserve nothing. “However, who I am today is only by God’s grace, and the grace He bestows on me is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:10)”
